Great Lakes Warbler Migration Tour

May 15 - 21, 2022

Join Epic Nature Tours for an amazing trip to Northern Ohio to observe the incredible warbler migration this May. Thousands of warblers stop in the wetlands and forests along the southern shores of the Great Lakes to rest and feed before crossing the Lakes to Canada for the breeding season. This trip will visit the world famous Magee Marsh, Maumee State Forest, Oak Openings Preserve, Metzger Marsh Wildlife Area, Maumee Bay State Park, and Erie Marsh Preserve – and if we don’t find a Kirtland’s warbler in any of these areas, we will make a day trip to Michigan to find them there.

All participants must have received both doses and a booster of the COVID 19 vaccine. A copy of your completed vaccine card is required.

Day 1 (May 15): Travel to OH. Guests will either fly into Detroit or drive and meet the group at the hotel.

Day 2 - 6 (May 16 - 20): We will bird the Magee Marsh area, including several parks and preserves nearby. The exact schedule will be based on any rare birds being reported. If we haven’t found a Kirtland’s Warbler by Day 5 we will make a trip to Michigan to find them on Day 6.
